I was born in central Ohio to the couple at the center of this crew.
An editor, writer, and instructor, I earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism (minor in rowing) from University of Oregon and a master of fine arts from University of Washington. My book, This Dirty Little Heart, won the 2007 Blue Lynx Poetry Prize and is not quite out-of-print. A collection of found poems, Shake it up and throw it at something hard, will be published online by Essay Press in April 2016.
For more than 20 years, I lived, worked, and ate as much pie as the belly allowed in Portland, Oregon. In late 2012, I moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with my husband and a fellowship in literature from the National Endowment for the Arts. In January 2016, I relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia, where I rapidly learned to always say yes to nasi goreng.
